Tell us about yourself:
I have an educational background in Human Resources and I have been in HR/Recruiting for the last 6 years. I had an HR professor in college who first sparked my interest. His advice led me to my first job as a contract HR Coordinator where I started to lean towards recruiting. After a year I found my way to PSI where I wanted to focus solely on recruiting for awhile, but ended up seeing opportunity to be able to add value to the company from an HR perspective.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy working for a company that stands for something. PSI is one of the companies that truly puts their employees and clients first. This pandemic is a perfect example of the character and integrity of the organization. Jobs come and go but good employers aren’t always easy to find. I’m fortunate that I can express when I’m not being challenged enough and they are open to letting me branch out of what I was “hired” to do. There’s trust and flexibility that make my job enjoyable!
How has COVID-19 affected you from a personal perspective?
It hasn’t really. It has changed my work location and keeping a 3-year-old entertained has been our biggest adjustment. Honestly though my family knows this is temporary. In time this shall pass and I believe that personally, professionally and spiritually we will be stronger than ever.
What about your family?
My husband, Ian, and I met in college and have been married for 5 years. We have a beautiful son, Kyrie, who will be 3 in July. We call him Ky for short. His best friend is our 8 year old Husky/Golden Retriever mix.
What do you do in your free time?
My husband and I are always finding ways to incorporate meaningful family time with our toddler. We are avid readers so a lot of time is spent reading and developing ourselves. The cool thing is that we already had a side business to work on in our spare time so this just gives extra time to spend on our family business.
What are your future goals?
Family is very important to me. I’ve always been entrepreneurial and look up to our CEO. I see the successful business he has created. My future plan is once I’ve given my best to PSI I will have a successful business with my husband that we can not only create impact, but also pass down to our children.
