As the holiday season approaches, Proteam Solutions Inc. (PSI) reflects on a year of meaningful community involvement through PSI Gives, the company’s initiative dedicated to giving back to central Ohio. What began as a small-scale effort has grown into a beloved team tradition, engaging employees, contractors, and local partners in impactful projects that address some of the area’s most pressing needs. This evolution, led by PSI Co-Owners: President & CEO Monty Ragland and Chief Client Officer Monica Dominic, has broadened the initiative’s reach, allowing PSI to make a difference in new, tangible ways for those around them.
“Our biggest core value is being driven to serve,” said Dominic. “We continually make it a mission to serve the community that has embraced PSI for over 30 years.” With the participation of both in-office staff and field consultants, PSI Gives has become a cornerstone of PSI’s culture, making it easy for everyone to get involved and make a difference.
Addressing the Needs of the Community
This year, PSI Gives focused on some of central Ohio’s most urgent needs, particularly homelessness. PSI teams volunteered at the Van Buren Homeless Shelter to prepare meals for hundreds, and a winter coat drive for The Open Shelter provided warmth to those facing the cold, emphasizing the company’s commitment to taking action where it’s needed most. Ragland shared that PSI is also planning to add mental health initiatives to next year’s schedule, recognizing the growing need for mental health support in the community. “Mental health challenges affect so many, often quietly, and can be life-altering for individuals and families alike,” he explained. By expanding PSI Gives to address mental wellness, PSI aims to support initiatives that break down stigma, provide resources, and create pathways to resilience, reaching even more people across the community.
In addition to tackling homelessness, PSI supported a variety of causes over the last year. Fundraising efforts benefited both COSI (Center of Science and Industry) and The Byron Saunders Foundation, and PSI also provided support for COSI’s Color of Science program. Looking to the future, the company is exploring partnerships with Columbus City Schools to promote tech programs, an effort that holds personal significance for Ragland. “It’s important to me that we support tech initiatives that help level the playing field for students who typically have fewer resources,” he shared, as a Columbus City Schools graduate himself.

A Culture of Service
For PSI, community involvement through PSI Gives is much more than fulfilling corporate responsibility. “PSI Gives is an extension of our values,” said Ragland, noting that this initiative offers employees and contractors a way to give back during work hours, rather than adding to personal commitments outside the office. This built-in accessibility has shaped a culture of service, giving each PSI team member a chance to contribute in ways that resonate with their own values.
The positive feedback from the community has been a powerful motivator. According to Ragland, “feedback is positive and most often realized by potential employees who, upon doing research, recognize that we are doing things that align with their personal values.” By centering its outreach on community and integrity, PSI has attracted talent who share its commitment to making a difference.
Furthering Impact, Growing Partnerships
As PSI Gives looks to the remainder of 2024, the program is gearing up for additional service days, a coat drive, and the adoption of a local family for the holidays. New partnerships with nonprofits are also underway, ensuring that PSI Gives remains responsive to the evolving needs of its community.
For the team, community engagement is at the heart of PSI’s identity, not just a checkbox. “Community engagement is central to PSI’s vision to be a company that champions positive social change alongside business success,” Ragland emphasized. Through PSI Gives, the company is not only addressing community challenges but also building lasting relationships that deepen its connection to central Ohio. PSI is proud of the community it serves and looks forward to making an even greater impact in the coming year.
